Hybrid Sustainable Energy Systems Lab

Students in this lab learn about Modeling and simulation of energy systems, High temperature fuel cell systems Battery/Ultracapacitor based energy storage, System dynamics and controls of distributed energy systems, Modeling of plasma reformers for hydrogen generation, Hardware-In-the-Loop simulation.
This computer lab uses various types of software including Matlab, Simulink, Real time workshop, dSPACE Controldesk. The lab hires students as co-op researchers as well as graduate assistants. Students are exposed to the laboratory's research by direct involvement with modeling and simulation, literature review, presentations to visitors, etc. Some students who utilize this lab, go into Careers in the Automotive industry, fuel cell industry, aerospace industries.
