RIT Offers "Kids on Campus" Summer Camps

Gear up for summer! Rochester Institute of Technologyís "Kids on Campus" launches with two weeks of challenging and exciting summer activities. Cutting-edge workshops in computer animation, gaming, graphics, Web design, multimedia and digital video will keep kids engaged during this summerís sessions.
- "Kids on Campus" combines computers and the Web, multimedia, math, art, science and technology to provide innovative and challenging activities for students entering grades five through nine. Session 1 runs July 7-18 and Session 2 runs July 21-Aug. 1. Fifth- and sixth-grade workshops include: "Awesome Animation Adventure," "Crafting in Glass," "MystMaker," "Web Comics" and "Amazing Tessellations." Seventh-, eighth- and ninth-grade workshops include "Twilight Zone," "Wacky Animation Inventions," "X-(TREME) Games" and "Slinkytopfrisbee.com."
Students may register for one or both sessions. Parents can choose the full-day program, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., or extended-day program until 5 p.m. (weekdays); registration fee is $375 for the full day, and $475 for the extended day, per two-week session.
- For youngsters entering grades one through four, "Lil Kids on Campus" will be held at Margaretís House on RITís campus, July 7-Aug. 15 (weekdays). Morning activities include "In the Night Sky," "Mirror, Mirror on the Wall" and "Croak, Hoot and Squeak." Swimming, lunch, sports and other recreational activities complete the day. Students can choose the full-day program, 9 a.m.--3 p.m., or extended-day program, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Registration fee is $150 for the full day and $200 for the extended day, per one-week session.
