Micheline Lubin

BS '99

Micheline Lubin, was born in Nassau, Bahamas, to Haitian parents and was the youngest of 4 children. She moved to Buffalo, NY as a child with her family in 1986, and attended Hutchinson Central Technical high school, where she studied electrical engineering and graduated in 1995. When it came time to decide where to go to college, there was no hesitation about attending RIT. She had heard a few of her classmates talk about RIT’s engineering program, but her interest was in studying Biology, and she was happy to find out that they also offered science majors that would assist her in her goal of becoming a doctor. She graduated from RIT College of Science with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1999 and was accepted to SUNY Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. After her first year of medical school she was given the opportunity to do a summer internship at the Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office which furthered her interest in learning more about forensic pathology but ultimately decided to train in Internal Medicine.

After graduating medical school in 2003 she went on to train in Internal Medicine at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA from 2003-2006. During that time she started spending time at the King County Medical Examiner’s Office where, and under the supervision of the Chief Medical Examiner, she learned more about forensic pathology by attending their Continuing Medical Education conferences and participated in the examinations to figure out how individuals died. During her second year of residency in Internal Medicine she decided to do a second residency in Anatomical Pathology with the goal of becoming a Forensic Pathologist. So, after completing Internal Medicine residency, she trained in Anatomical Pathology at the University of Colorado Denver, School of Medicine from 2006-2009 and then went on to her Forensic Pathology Fellowship training at the King County Medical Examiner’s Office from 2009-2010. She is presently board certified in Internal Medicine, Anatomical Pathology and Forensic Pathology.

She worked at the Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Western District after fellowship training for 4 months, then she accepted an Associate Medical Examiner position at the King County Medical Examiner’s Office (KCMEO) where she was employed for 13 years, and was made Deputy Chief Medical Examiner and briefly acted as Interim Chief Medical Examiner. She is presently employed as an Associate Medical Examiner at the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office since January of 2025.
