David Bloch

The deaf Jewish artist, David Ludwig Bloch (1910-2002), was one of the 10,911 Jewish men interned at the Dachau Concentration Camp after "Kristallnacht", or the Night of Broken Glass, in November, 1938. After release he was able to emigrate to China. He only returned to Germany in 1976. After a visit to the Dachau Holocaust memorial, he was able to digest his personal experiences on an artistic level.
