Frank Craig

Frank Craig (1874-1918) was a painter and illustrator of contemporary and medieval historical subjects. Born February 27, 1874 at Abbey Wood, Kent, he studied at Lambeth School of Art and Cook's School, Fitzroy Street- he was a pupil of E. A. Abbey at the R.A. Schools 1895-1898. He exhibited regularly at the R.A. from 1895 to 1916. Craig worked as an illustrator for The Graphic and other periodicals starting in 1895. He is most known for illustrating the poems of Rudyard Kipling. He died of tuberculosis at Cintra, near Lisbon, July 9, 1918.
