Assistant Director of Diversity Initiatives
About the Role
The primary responsibility of the position is to manage the College’s diversity initiatives with the mission of recruiting, retaining, supporting and inspiring AALANA (African American, Latino American and Native American) students to achieve their fullest potential as computing professionals and leaders. The Assistant Director works to empower underrepresented groups by providing an inclusive community to foster growth and creativity in computing through programs, events, presentations, communications and marketing, and the student-led COMS. Reporting to the Director of GCCIS Diversity Initiatives and working closely with student leaders, creates an inclusive environment based on best practices in diversity & inclusion.
About Jacquis
Jacquis Webb was born and raised in Rochester, NY. Coming from an athletic background, Jacquis played Division 1 football at Rutgers University and University at Buffalo. He has a wide variety of human service and mentorship based work experience prior to RIT. These experiences range from working with Hillside Work Scholarship Connection, briefly as a Care Manager for a non profit organization called EPI, and finally as a Community Outreach Specialist for Monroe County Department of Human Services. Jacquis also coaches high school football at his former school, Gates Chili High School. In his spare time, Jacquis likes to play with his dog, Oliver, play video games, workout and loves to find new music to enjoy.
