Community Engagement Chair


About the Role
The Community Engagement Chair works on building pathways for young underrepresented groups in computing by planning K-12 events and workshops. They work closely with the Assistant Director of the Diversity Initiatives office to plan out event logistics and manage relationships with local schools in Rochester. The Community Engagement chair also leads a committee of COMS members in order to coordinate and plan events.

About Macca
Macca is a 3rd-year Software Engineering student with a minor in Business Administration. She loves building full-stack applications, especially during hackathons where her creativity and collaboration come to life. Outside of coding, she stays active as a member of the university’s Afro dance club, explores new restaurants, and expresses herself through nail art.
