About the Role
The Hackathon Chair heads a dedicated planning committee and team of directors to organize HACK.COMS, the flagship annual hackathon for COMS. They manage event logistics, secure sponsorships, and work closely with various departments to ensure everything runs smoothly. The Hackathon Chair also fosters innovation by curating engaging workshops and activities, creating a memorable experience for all attendees. Last year, HACK.COMS attracted over 150 participants, resulting in more than 50 completed hacks.
About Matthew
Matthew is a first-year Computer Science major with a keen interest in systems programming and IoT. Driven by a passion for technology and education, he mentors students at RIT’s Makerspace, helping them bring their projects to life using machine tools. Outside of school, Matthew enjoys cozy reading sessions, attending indie concerts, and catching up on well-deserved sleep.
