Mixed Media Explorations: Layering, Color, and Expression

This project investigates layering, color, and texture through a mixed-media approach inspired by artists such as Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Using collage, paint, and drawing materials, the work combines found imagery with hand-rendered elements to create bold compositions in still life, portrait, or architectural forms. Emphasis is placed on experimentation, blending media, and transforming meaning through color, allowing the development of a personal visual language that bridges abstraction and representation. The result is a dynamic and expressive body of work that challenges conventional boundaries of visual storytelling.

This painting was the result of the mixed media project. This painting was inspired by one of my favorite music artists, The Weeknd, where I took a picture from the internet and then painted it on a canvas, then surrounded him with many of his album covers to convey that he is within his music.
