Title: Mackey Embedding for Reduced Group C*-Algebra
Abstract: A Mackey bijection is a one-to-one correspondence between the set equivalence classes of irreducible tempered representations of a reductive group to the set of equivalence classes of irreducible unitary representation of an associated motion group. Several years ago, an embedding from the group C*-algebra of the motion group to the reduced group C*-algebra of the reductive group, which we now call the Mackey embedding, was constructed for the case of complex reductive group. In this talk, I shall present a fully realized construction of the Mackey embedding for the case of real reductive group. This is based on joint work with Pierre Clare and Nigel Higson.
