External Team Chair Visit
Dr. Nariman Farvardin, President of Stevens Institute of Technology, was named RIT’s External Team Chair. Dr. Farvardin visited RIT on October 2, 2025 to provide feedback to the Self-Study Steering Committee and to learn about the RIT community and international locations.
External Evaluation Team Visitation Dates Established
The MSCHE External Evaluation Team will visit RIT from Sunday, March, 29, 2026 to Wednesday, April 1, 2026. During this time, team members will meet with various RIT stakeholders and units to assess if accreditation standards have been met. Members of the Evaluation Team have not been announced by MSCHE yet.
Self-Study Working Draft Community Review: October 6-October 27
The Self-Study Steering Committee has completed its self-study working draft. Community review and feedback will occur between October 6 to October 27. Keep an eye open for instructions on ways to provide feedback.
Institutional Priorities Report
An important aspect of the self-study process was the examination of three institutional priorities:
- Improving Student Success
- Expanding the Research Enterprise
- Prioritizing Well-Being into RIT’s Campus Culture
The analysis, findings and opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation related to each of these priorities is provided in a separate report to the RIT community.

RIT reaccreditation process advances with key milestones
University-wide reaccreditation teams reached new milestones this spring, including finishing the first draft of a self-study prepared by eight working groups. Three priority areas have also been identified as the focal points of the self-study: student success, research, and community well-being.

Self-Study Design approved by Middle States
The Self-Study Design outlines the approach that the Steering Committee will follow in preparing the University's Self-Study document. The design outlines the four goals for the Self-Study and the approach to organizing information that will be the framework for the work.
