Technically Speaking is a student-run, faculty-led Advertising and Public Relations agency.
We are RIT’s first student-run, faculty-led Advertising and Public Relations agency in the School of Communication. Our team of creative and strategic thinkers offer a range of high-quality services such as campaign research, strategic campaigns, public relations, creative services, brand strategy, print and digital advertising design services, content creation, and social media. Technically Speaking aims to serve clients within RIT and the Rochester community. RIT students partaking in this course can experience a flexible, independent style of learning, working with peers to serve real-world clients and gain professional agency experience.

Imagine RIT behind-the-scenes stories
Our team decided to get a behind-the-scenes look at Imagine RIT and its exhibits. We chose several exhibits from different areas of interest and followed them along their work process throughout the semester. We met with the exhibitors to collect information, discover their stories, and capture footage. These were used to create videos. which we posted on Technically Speaking's Instagram account to help promote their exhibit. We also showcased these behind-the-scenes stories at our own exhibit at Imagine RIT. It was a rousing success!
Self-branding
Our brand needed to represent the student voice while offering something new and unique to the RIT community. Our competitive edge is we are diverse, young, RIT-supported and can offer a full suite of marketing communication services to our clients. So we leaned into it and focused on digital and social media marketing, and the benefit of guidance from faculty and industry professionals.
Law NY
In December 2024, Technically Speaking presented the creative strategy for a PSA campaign targeting Millennials and Gen Z in Monroe County to help them avoid online scams. We executed the campaign by rolling out a series of targeted social media posts. A social media calendar was set up for LawNY to track KPIs and their progress during the duration of the campaign.
