Air Force ROTC - Capt Kimberly Girgenti

Biography
Capt. Kimberly Girgenti is the Recruiting Flight Commander for the Air Force ROTC Detachment 538 at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. She is responsible for recruiting, training, and educating students to become Air Force and Space Force officers through the AFROTC program. 

Captain Girgenti entered the Air Force after receiving her commission from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2019. She is a core Nuclear and Missile Operations Officer, accruing over 8,000 alert hours on the ICBM Rapid Execution and Combat Targeting (REACT) weapon system and earning the qualifications of Experienced Missile Combat Crew Commander and Instructor. 

Prior to her current position, Captain Girgenti was selected to command the 90th Operations Support Squadron’s Weapons and Tactics Flight, F.E. Warren AFB, Wyoming. As Flight Commander, she orchestrated the development and execution of standardized training products, ensuring the proficiency and combat readiness of 245 Nuclear Missile Officers in control of 15 Missile Alert Facilities and 150 Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (LGM-30G ICBMs) across 9,600 square miles. Her technical expertise was critical to the reestablishment of the 20th Air Force Instructor Qualification Course and foundation of the Air Force Global Strike Command Emergency Escape Breathing Apparatus Program.
