Biography

Captain Daniel Slater is a Recruiting Flight Commander for the Air Force ROTC Detachment 538 at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. He is responsible for recruiting, training, and educating students to become Air Force and Space Force officers through the AFROTC program. 

Captain Slater received his commission in August 2018 through Officer Training School at Maxwell AFB, Alabama. He is a core Nuclear and Missile Operations Officer, accruing over 13,000 alert hours on the ICBM Rapid Execution and Combat Targeting (REACT) weapon system.

Prior to his current position, Captain Slater served as the Assistant Director of Operations for the 740th Missile Squadron, Minot AFB, North Dakota, where he directed day-to-day squadron operations for 50 Minuteman III nuclear missiles & five missile alert facilities and was the primary liaison and conduit between groups, squadron leadership and crew force, optimizing daily missile operations.
