Biography
Capt Alexander Stoenner is the Operations Flight Commander for the Air Force ROTC Detachment 538. He is responsible for the construction, management, and execution of all unit-recruiting efforts. Additionally, he instructs cadets through a curriculum covering the Foundations of the USAF, AF History, Leadership, and National Security Affairs.

Capt Stoenner entered the Air Force in 2009 as an aircraft environmental and electrical systems maintenance technician. His enlisted assignments include Dover Air Force Base, Yokota Air Base, and Robins AFB, with experience on C-5 Galaxy, C-17 Globemaster III, KC-10 Extender, and E-8 JSTARS platforms.  The Captain commissioned through Officer Training School, earning his commission in 2019.  Prior to his current position, Capt Stoenner fulfilled duties as an aircraft maintenance officer. The Captain led the 310th Aircraft Maintenance Unit as assistant officer-in-charge, leading a team of 185 Airmen and managing a fleet of 27 F-16C/D Fighting Falcons valued at $675 million. His outstanding leadership and incredible team earned the 56th Fighter Wing’s 2021 Aircraft Maintenance Unit of the Year Award.
