“Nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of evolution.”
– Theodosius Dobzhansky
We are a research group focused on advancing the understanding of microbial evolution and population dynamics through the integration of next-generation sequencing and experimental methodologies.
Our primary objective is to investigate these fundamental biological processes in order to address the growing global health challenge of antimicrobial resistance. Ongoing projects in the lab are centered on uncovering the mechanisms of resistance, characterizing microbial resistomes, exploring speciation and niche specialization, and studying adaptive evolutionary processes.
