This program is especially relevant for middle and early high school youth, undecided about their career path. Associated Info: WIC Hacks is a 24 hour hackathon for women on the RIT campus, run by the Woman in Computing club. There will also be a two day newbie track for beginner programmers, in which basic computing skills will be taught. Do you know a female high school student who is (or might be) interested in computer science, web design, robotics, video game development, engineering, etc.? Must be at least 16 years old. If so, encourage her to join RIT Women in Computing at WIC Hacks on Saturday and Sunday of February 21 and 22, 2015 at RIT! YWCP 9th Grade Summer Bridge Program

Associated Info: On August 2-5, 2015, the Young Women's College Prep 9th Grade Summer Bridge Program, which is coordinated by RIT K-12 and RIT's Office of Government and Community Relations, will take place on the RIT campus. YWCP, a charter school for girls, first opened its doors in 2011. The 9th Grade Summer Bridge program will consist of 84 ninth graders, ages 13 and 14, who live in the city of Rochester.
