Admissions Requirements

Candidates applying to the Executive MBA programs must have 6 years minimum of professional work experience and complete the following steps:

  1. Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges
  2. Current resume 
  3. Personal statement of educational objectives answering these two prompts:
    • Discuss a work-related challenge you faced and how you worked to resolve it.
    • Discuss how an Executive MBA will support your greater goals.
    • Please note: To be considered for additional scholarship, submit an essay answering: If money and time were no object, what would you do with your career?
  4. Three letters of recommendation from professional references, one of which should be a direct supervisor. A link will be provided to applicants when the initial application form is complete.

Scholarships

Exclusive to the Executive MBA programs, the scholarships below are specifically designed for Executive MBA students and awarded based on merit, professional experience and financial need.

Scholarship Description, eligibility + Ranges Available
Early Decision Award Early decision scholarships are offered at the $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000 levels leading up to the next program start date. Available to all accepted students in either Executive MBA program.
RIT Alumni Scholarship $15,600-$16,200 in scholarship funding available to RIT alumni who are accepted into the Executive MBA. Cannot be combined with other scholarships with the exception of the Early Decision Award.
Executive MBA Dean’s Scholarship The Executive MBA Dean's Scholarship is awarded by the scholarship committee to select applicants who demonstrate excellence in previous studies and career. Ranges vary year-to-year.
EMBA Professional Scholarship The Professional Scholarship is awarded to applicants accepted in either Executive MBA program. Ranges vary year-to-year.
Life Sciences Professional Scholarship $25,000 scholarships available to all accepted students in either Executive MBA program with Life Sciences electives. Cannot be combined with other scholarships with the exception of the Early Decision Award.
Women in Leadership Scholarships available for qualified women with careers on a leadership trajectory. Ranges vary year-to-year.
Don Zriebec Scholarship for Nonprofit professionals This scholarship is awarded to professionals in the nonprofit sector. Ranges vary year-to-year.
Dan Tessoni Excellence in EMBA Accounting Scholarship* This scholarship is awarded during the second term of the program to qualifying on-campus Executive MBA students. Ranges vary year-to-year.

Leadership Rochester Executive Scholarship Exclusive scholarship available to Leadership Rochester alumni applying for either Executive MBA program.
Women In Bio Executive Scholarship Exclusive scholarship available to Women In Bio members applying for the Online Executive MBA program with Life Sciences electives.
