Packing a Punch: Packaging Excellence Through Rigorous Testing

Location

Louise Slaughter Hall - 1290

The Dynamics Lab is a student-operated third-party test lab offering package testing services to hundreds of companies around the country. This area also serves as a space for students in the Packaging Science degree program. With lab resources, students gain expertise in the methods and equipment used to perform transit simulations. Students acquire the knowledge to interpret and use test data to become more effective packaging developers! What's in store? Pallet dance floors: Our vibration tables mimic real-world conditions to make pallets boogie Crash-test box dummies: Drops, impacts, and acceleration events; we can do it all. Hydraulic Press Channel (Lite version): How much weight can a box actually hold? You'll just have to come find out! A tropical rainforest, the arctic, and everything in between: If it can happen in nature, it can happen here. Book your next vacation in one of our environmental conditioning chambers! Don't miss this chance to see how packaging scientists uses transportation simulation to evaluate package integrity. Who knew cost and material savings could be so destructive!
