Rainbow Science

Location

We want to demonstrate queer representation in the College of Science by doing rainbow colored interactive experiments for each discipline in COS (biology, chemistry, physics and math). The possible experiments are kaleidoscopes, elephant toothpaste, camouflaged critters, and interesting shapes coloring sheets! The kaleidoscopes have physics context due to light diffraction. Participants will build their own kaleidoscope and learn about light behavior in the process. Elephants toothpaste will be done in small scales (in flasks) and provides context to chemistry and biology. Participants will be able to choose their colors and watch the "toothpaste" be made. Craft a master of disguise and put it to the test against other creations. Lastly, the math coloring sheets will be out with descriptions on what each shape means/where it comes from.
