Dashboard

Your Dashboard is where you can find recent alerts & kudos, upcoming appointments, and your connections within Starfish. 

Navigating to Your Dashboard

  1. Access Starfish
  2. From the Starfish My Success Network page, click the navigation menu Blue square with three horizontal white lines. in the upper left corner of the screen. 
  3. Once the side menu opens click on Dashboard.
    There is a blue region covering about 1/4 of the menu. In this region, there is a circle meant to hold the student’s profile picture. Under that is the “Student Name” and there is an “x” icon to the left of the circle with an orange box around it. Next to the “Student Name” is a “v” icon that is used to expand the rest of the menu. Below the blue region, is the expanded menu which has buttons to various pages: “Dashboard”, “My Success Network”, “Upcoming”, “Messages”, “Plans”, “Courses”, and “Request Help”. There is an orange box around “Dashboard”. Blow these, there are two hyperlinks – “Privacy Policy” and “Terms of Use”.

Notifications

If you have any academic alerts, kudos, or to-do items they will be displayed in the Notifications section. Items in this section may require your attention and follow-up

To the right of this it says “FLAG” and under this word it says “Attendance/Participation”. There are three more lines of information under this, the first one has a person icon made by a small circle on top of a semi-circle and to the right of this it says “Created by Jane Doe 08-25-2020”. The second one has a heart icon and to the right of this it says “Course Name I (Course ID Number). The third and final line has an icon button that is a black circle with a gray i in the center of it and to the right it says “Comments from the Instructor will appear here”.

Calendar

On the Calendar, you will see any upcoming appointments you have scheduled in Starfish.
 This shows the calendar and how an appointment for August 28, 2020 at 10am would show at that position on the calendar.

My Connections

The connections available to you will show in the My Connections section. Each connection displays the person's contact information (if available) under the name. Clicking on the contact information can activate a phone call or start an email with the contact

Under this it says “Instructor” and under this there is a mail symbol and to the right of this it says “JOHN1234@rit.edu”.
