General Medical Care

The RIT Student Health Center provides basic primary care to students who have paid the student health fee. Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nursing staff are available by appointment for health counseling, evaluation, and treatment of common medical concerns.  For medical care beyond the scope of practice of the Student Health Center, students will be referred to local specialists with guidance and coordination of care provided by a member of the student health case management team.

Some medical conditions commonly evaluated and treated in the Health Center include (but are not limited to):

  • Allergy symptoms
  • Asthma
  • Back pain
  • Bladder infections
  • Headache
  • Minor lacerations and suturing
  • Pink eye (conjunctivitis)
  • Rashes
  • Respiratory infections-ear, sinus and lung infections
  • Sexually transmitted infections
  • Sore throats
  • Sprains and strains
  • Stomach problems
  • Wound care
  • Vaginal infections

We invite students to make an appointment with a medical provider even if you "just have questions" or want to discuss a health concern.
