3095 : Electrical Standards

This course will enable students to assess electrical hazards in the workplace utilizing OSHA and consensus standards. During the course, the student will receive an in depth understanding of electrical hazards, employee training requirements, and electrical safe related work practices. Furthermore, the student will gain a basic concept of electricity, recognize components in the electrical system, and gain an understanding of fault conditions. Other topics during the course will include describing electrical rated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), identifying testing instruments and hazardous energy control procedures.
