Gary Sutto

Name: Gary Sutto

Class Year(s): 1982

Note: Seattle photographer Gary Sutto MFA ’82 (GAP), shares his recent blog post: My Notes on the 6 Foot Rule: Most of my photography happens when I’m out walking, exploring parks, neighborhoods and the city of Seattle. All, mind you, while keeping my distance as my work benefits from solitary and quiet walks. My wife and I also visit Vancouver a great deal as we lived there some time ago. We miss the parks, neighborhoods and our Canadian friends. My Vancouver portfolio grew with each visit, however now that the borders are closed, this work has ceased. But I’ve been reviewing my work from 1982 and 83 and scanning negatives that somehow escaped printing back then. So in essence I’m still out walking the neighborhoods and parks of Deep Cove and Vancouver. Even with the advised restrictions I get an overpowering itch every once in awhile to go out and explore, my wife sees it and encourages me to go. I often think to myself that if I don’t go, I don’t see. That thought puts me in the mood to take my camera out for a walk. So, the 6 Foot Rule: We now have a new hire to help us (me) remember, as I’m going out, to be vigilant. At my site you can read about our new Safety and Health Officer. She also has an assistant and they are now on (boards.) Go to my website www.GarySutto.com and follow the link. The August 21st 2017 eclipse from my backyard is posted at Vimeo at https://vimeo.com/231762117 To your Health and Cheers, in moderation of course.
