Note: Jennifer Walkowski ’01 recently celebrated her first anniversary as capitol restoration coordinator for OGS Design & Construction. In this role, Walkowski works directly under the capitol architect to oversee the historic preservation and restoration of the New York State Capitol, the Empire State Plaza, and the Executive Mansion, as well as supporting other client agencies across the state.

Name: Nicole Cullen

Note: On Oct. 11, 2025, Paul Fowler ’19 (CET) and Nicole (Cullen) Fowler ’20 (CET) were married. They met at RIT and spent nearly 7 years together before tying the knot. They celebrated with family and friends. Nearly 30 others were also RIT alumni, including the parents of the bride. Cheers to a long and happy marriage!

Name: Mark Turner

Note: Mark Turner BS ’77 (CCE) is the author of a recent field guide, Weeds of the Pacific Northwest, which won the GardenComm Gold Laurel award for photography in the technical reference book category. The same book also received the 2025 Award of Excellence: Horticulture from The Council on Botanical and Horticultural Libraries (CBHL). The book was published by Timber Press in 2024. His two previous books, Wildflowers of the Pacific Northwest and Trees & Shrubs of the Pacific Northwest, also published by Timber, continue to sell well. Mark is the photographer of all three, with co-authors contributing the descriptive text.

Note: Tom Klinkowstein ’71 (GAP) is creating an art project together with vice dean Barbara Brownie at the Royal College of Art on the occasion of his sub-orbital space flight with Virgin Galactic in 2027. Tom is president of Media A LLC in New York, a tenured professor of new media design at Hofstra University on Long Island, and a part-time tenured adjunct professor in graduate communications design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.

Note: Cindy Byer ’98 (CAST), MBA ’99 (SCB) recently authored and published her memoir: Unmuted: How I Stopped Shrinking and Learned to Use My Voice. The book traces her journey of finding her voice after years of silence and self-doubt and includes her time and formative experiences at RIT.

Note: First assistant district attorney, Daniel E. Holmes ’82 (GAP) and district attorney, Andy J. Watson, are working to protect Potter County Pennsylvania residents from crime. Both are graduates of the Syracuse University College of Law. Holmes has served as an assistant district attorney for over 20 years in Pennsylvania and New Mexico, and is a graduate of the Syracuse College of Law in 1986. Daniel is especially proud to be a professional photo graduate of RIT in 1982, but he doesn’t miss the Winters.
