RIT names Ellen Granberg as provost
RIT has named Ellen Granberg as its new provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs. She joins RIT on Aug. 19 and will be the first woman in the university’s history to serve as provost. -

David Long appointed director of MAGIC Center
David Long, associate professor in RIT’s College of Art and Design, has been appointed director of RIT’s Center for Media, Arts, Games, Interaction and Creativity and MAGIC Spell Studios. Long is founder and chair of the motion picture science program in RIT’s School of Film and Animation. -

Venture Creations companies place in accelerator competition
Two client companies in RIT’s Venture Creations incubator have won recognition and prize money from the New York state-funded Luminate NY accelerator program. Positive Science won third place in the competition and $250,000, and Molecular Glasses won $10,000 and the Audience Choice Award. -

Company develops solar generators for hurricane victims
David Rodriguez ’92 is the founder of inverSOL, a client company of Venture Creations business incubator that produces solar generator systems. The company will open a manufacturing and retail facility in Puerto Rico to help those living in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. -
