Beer Tasting: Local vs. The World
Join us during Brick City Weekend for an exciting beer tasting hosted by the Saunders College of Business Department of International Hospitality and Service Innovation! Led by RIT lecturer Ted Ganster, this year’s theme—Local vs. The World—brings an interactive twist to learning how to evaluate craft beer.
Your session begins with welcome refreshments and a demonstration on proper tasting techniques. You'll then participate in a guided, side-by-side blind tasting of four distinct beer styles, pitting a locally brewed favorite against an international classic of the same style (e.g., Rohrbach’s Oktoberfest vs. an authentic Munich Oktoberfest). Scorecards and information on each beer will be provided so you can track your favorites and see how local craft compares on the world stage.
Light appetizers will be provided (we will do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies), and all participants will receive a complimentary branded glass as a keepsake.
