Treasures from the Collection
Celebrating a Quarter Century of the Dyer Arts Center
August 28 - December 18, 2026
Williams Gallery
As the Dyer Arts Center celebrates its 25th anniversary, Treasures from the Collection offers a glimpse into a collection that carries a much longer history. The collection spans approximately 100 years of Deaf history, from its oldest work, dated 1926, to its most recent work, made in 2021. Selected from approximately 1,800 artworks, the exhibition reflects Deaf life, creativity, change, and continuity across generations. Together, the curators chose these works to reflect the richness and vastness of what it means to be Deaf and invite visitors to consider the people, artworks, and moments that have shaped this collection.
Then, Now, Next: Celebrating 25 Years of the Dyer Arts Center
September 4 - December 18, 2026
Ohringer Gallery
Then, Now, Next: Celebrating 25 Years of the Dyer Arts Center explores the Dyer Arts Center's journey, from the NTID Art Gallery and Mary E. Switzer Gallery to the Center we know today. Celebrating the vision that created a permanent home for Deaf artists, the exhibition reflects on the transformation of the space, the growth of the collection, and the evolution of exhibitions and programs over the years.
Foundations for Deaf Futures
Three Women, Deaf Legacy, and Cultural Space
October 16 - December 18, 2026
Glass Room
Before the Dyer Arts Center, there were three women whose creativity and vision laid the foundation for the cultural space it is today. Helen, Elizabeth, and Florence, along with their families, played an integral role in shaping Dyer through their love of artistic expression and their deep appreciation for the arts. This exhibit celebrates the art of these remarkable women, whose talent, dedication, and legacy remain the pillars of the Dyer Arts Center.
