Get RIT Ready

Action Required:

Before you can start your RIT journey, you must complete and submit your health history and immunization forms. Get your immunization records today from your school nurse or doctor and submit your forms online at wellnessportal.rit.edu.

Complete the required forms

As you get ready for RIT, take a minute to think about how you’ll take care of your health while you’re here. Whether you need ongoing medical or mental health support, prescription refills, or just the right wellness essentials, planning ahead will help you feel confident and prepared.

Plan for specialized and long-term health needs

A smooth transition starts with knowing how you’ll take care of yourself. Think about any ongoing health or mental health needs and what support you’ll need in Rochester.

If you rely on weekly therapy, specialized treatment, or long‑term care, make a plan now to get connected to a local specialist or contact the Case Management team to assist you in connecting with a mental health specialist in the local Rochester area.

Physical Health Care

The Student Health Center provides primary and urgent care services for all RIT students.

For medical care beyond the scope of practice of the Student Health Center, students will be referred to local specialists with guidance and coordination of care provided by a member of the Student Health Center team.

Familiarize yourself with RIT's available Wellness services so you know who to reach out to for support before you need it.

Plan for prescription refills

The Student Health Center has limited commonly prescribed medications on-site and can assist with prescription delivery options for students who must fill prescriptions away from home.

Review your health insurance coverage

All RIT students are expected to have health insurance. You can meet this expectation by:

  1. Using your current insurance plan, or

  1. Enrolling in the RIT Student Health Insurance Plan through Aetna, administered by Gallagher Student Health.

Students may also choose to enroll in additional coverage options including dental insurance, personal property insurance, and tuition refund insurance.
