Counseling Services Overview

Counseling and Psychological Services offers a variety of services to RIT students to promote the emotional health and well-being of the campus community, including:


Needs Assessment

All clinical services begin with a Needs Assessment to determine the most appropriate combination and level of service that is right for you.


Individual Counseling

Our office provides short-term, goal-focused individual counseling and psychotherapy services that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
 


Group Counseling

Our office offers group counseling to those seeking a unique opportunity to receive multiple perspectives, support, and encouragement from other students in a safe environment.


Urgent Care Services

If you need immediate assistance from our clinical staff, our Urgent Care Services are available to students on a walk-in basis.


Psychiatry Services

When deemed appropriate, our psychiatrist evaluates students, recommends treatment, and prescribes and monitors psychiatric medications in collaboration with the Student Health Center.


CARES

CARES (Campus Advocacy, Response and Support) is an after-hours service available 24-hours a day to respond to RIT students that have been impacted by sexual assault, harassment, relationship violence, or stalking.


Outreach and Workshops

Our office offers a variety of preventative programming to help students maximize the potential of their academic experience.


Training Program

Our training program provides access to intensive work with licensed professionals from varied mental health disciplines.
