Group Support

Group support offers a safe space for students to gain different perspectives, receive encouragement from peers, and develop a deeper self-understanding. It is often the most effective resource for addressing emotional concerns, personal struggles, and relationship issues.

Fall 2025 CaPS Therapy Groups

 Group Therapy

Group therapy is a highly effective way to achieve personal goals for change and growth. In weekly sessions, members collaborate with other students to work towards their individualized objectives. Group therapy sessions run for the entire semester and are typically closed to new members once they begin. For more information, contact our Associate Director Clinical Services, Jeremiah Knowles, at jikycc@rit.edu

How to Get Connected:
Schedule a group screen appointment with the facilitator to make sure that group is right for you. To schedule a group screen, contact our office or talk with your therapist.

This group is a living laboratory to explore our default ways of being with one another, and to try out new ways of relating. It is an excellent place to explore what gets in the way in your relationships - have trouble advocating for yourself? Talking about personal issues? Telling someone they hurt your feelings? This group is a great place to try this out in a safe and confidential environment, and explore why these things might be hard for you. In this interpersonal process group, we will use the here and now to try out new ways of relating. Students report feeling less alone in their struggles, understanding themselves better, and growing in their relationships. Access services available upon request.
