Become a Learning Assistant

Learning Assistants (LAs) are pedagogically trained undergraduate students who collaborate with faculty to create active, student-centered classrooms.

As part of their role, LAs take a credit-bearing (2-credit) pedagogy course. This course provides them with essential skills to:

  • Reflect on student learning and adapt to the needs of their peers
  • Apply evidence-based teaching strategies to enhance classroom engagement
  • Collaborate with faculty to improve learning outcomes and foster an inclusive learning environment

This combination of hands-on experience and pedagogical training equips LAs with the tools to effectively support their peers and contribute to the success of the class.
