The 28th annual Undergraduate Research Symposium, held on Aug. 1, is structured as a professional research conference. Research themes included everything from fundamental microbiology to the fine arts.

Cybercrime is costing the world trillions of dollars, and analysts say that there aren’t enough qualified professionals to prevent those attacks. To address this problem, RIT is creating the Global Cybersecurity Institute (GCI), aimed at meeting the demand for computing security and artificial intelligence professionals, while developing future technologies, protocols and human understanding needed to address the global cybersecurity crisis.

RIT honored researchers who served as principal investigators on active awards in fiscal year 2018 at an April 11 reception. Also recognized were the 20 recipients of Seed Funding Awards and 12 new inductees in RIT’s PI Millionaires.

Can modern office spaces really determine whether employees thrive or fail? Yes they can, according to new research by RIT Professor Shal Khazanchi that examines how physical workspace design impacts interpersonal relationships, and employee success and productivity.

The Academy of Management referenced the research work of Shal Khazanchi, Department Chair and Saunders Professor.

The Studio 930 Design Consultancy program, a 10-week long multidisciplinary studio experience focused on the design and production of access and health technologies products, wrapped up with an exhibition Aug. 7.

RIT alumnus and trustee Frank Sklarsky and his family have made a gift to Saunders College of Business to help support costs associated with the Sklarsky Center for Business Analytics, a 800-square-foot space to the right of the entry to Saunders College formally dedicated on May 4.

Rochester Institute of Technology students and faculty from various disciplines put their creative problem-solving skills to good use earlier this month. Working collaboratively, they examined challenges faced by client organizations and then presented conceptual solutions to them during a two-day event.
