Brinkman Lab

The Brinkman Lab is named after Earl W. Brinkman, known as ‘the father of the screw machine'. This lab features a wide variety of cutting edge advanced manufacturing processes such as a waterjet machining, computer-controlled milling, 3D printing, and printed electronics. The lab serves as a resource for students from all over campus seeking to fabricate components for their design projects and as a technical resource for the manufacturing community in Western New York.

The teaching-related support includes equipment infrastructure and materials for the following courses: ISEE 140 Materials Processing and profession electives – ISEE 640 CAD/CAM, ISE 740 Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, ISEE 741 3D Printing, ISEE 7xx Functional Printing, and ISEE 7xx Personalized 3D Printing.  In addition, the lab supports many senior design projects and honors design projects that require some degree of fabrication.
