Bates and Sol Tutoring Centers

The Bates and Sol Tutoring Centers are free, drop-in locations for tutoring, group work, and general studying. Tutoring is available for introductory courses in math, physics, and chemistry courses, with select 200-level courses also supported. Both centers are open to all RIT students. No appointments needed.

Any student in any course can stop by to get help in math, physics, or chemistry. Some professors also hold office hours in Bates; check your syllabus for details.

All tutors have earned at least an A- in the courses they support, maintain an overall GPA of 3.6 or higher, and are certified through the ASC’s tutor training program, which meets College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) standards.
