Accessible Public Toilet Design

Current Solution

Design an affordable solution that makes public bathrooms truly accessible for a variety of wheelchair users. Ideally design a product that can be implemented immediately without modifying the current design of a standard ADA accessible restroom.

Our goal is to design a solution to use with existing standard ADA compliant toilets to enable independent access for wheelchair users by making the “transfer” and “pants removal” process easier and safer.

Problem Statement

For people who use wheelchairs, with little or no ability to use their lower body, using public restroom facilities can be extremely difficult and unpleasant.
