Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Imaging Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology after completing my MS in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota State University. I am a Graduate Research Assistant working on NASA’s BioSCape project under the supervision of Jan van Aardt and am also part of the Digital Imaging and Remote Sensing Laboratory at RIT. My research focuses on hyperspectral remote sensing using both real and synthetic data, with an emphasis on applying machine learning and deep learning techniques to biodiversity monitoring and remote sensing applications. My current work aims to identify next-generation hyperspectral sensor configurations capable of measuring biodiversity in complex ecosystems at fine spatial scales.
