I am a Ph.D. candidate at the Center for Imaging Science, RIT. My research focuses on using discrete and full-waveform airborne LiDAR to characterize vegetation structure in low-stature and complex shrubland ecosystems. Specifically, my work examines how LiDAR-derived structural metrics relate to ecosystem function, how sensor properties affect structural signal detectability, and how physics-based simulation can inform next-generation LiDAR system design. Overall, this work aims to improve ecological monitoring of diverse and structurally complex low-stature ecosystems.
