In groups of four, students will prepare and present an informative presentation about a business or engineering related topic. 

In this essay, students produce their own analysis and interpretation of one or more of the comics that we’ve read in class

The goal of this assignment is for the class to keep up-to-date with events taking place in the U.S. this semester, to learn to critically reflect upon what is happening and understand the global impact, as well as hone your presentation skills.

Students become Digital Volunteers for the Smithsonian and originally transcribe or review items from the museum's collections and transcribe the items using the digital files provided through the Smithsonian’s platform. The second part of the assignment asks students to write an informal response to this assignment that is based upon their experience and includes linkages to our course readings. 

The purpose of the assignment sequence is for the student to reflect upon their own literacy learning as well as that of their classmates and present their understanding of those experiences in writing.
