Campus Post Offices


 

Outgoing shipping appointments are available Monday – Friday between 9AM and 2PM. 

  • To schedule an appointment at the NRH shipping window call 585-475-2518 or email Postoff@rit.edu
  • To schedule an appointment at the GV shipping window call 585-475-3463 or email at gvpostoffice@rit.edu.
  • In order to insure that anyone who has made an appointment is taken care of on time, walk up customers will be handled after scheduled appointments are completed. We cannot guarantee anyone service on a “first come-first served” basis at this time.
  • International shipping: Please let us know when you schedule your appointment if you will be shipping multiple packages. We will adjust appointment length in order to process all necessary paperwork beyond the normal 15 minutes allotted for shipping appointments.

Package pick up – You do not need an appointment. Pick up times are from 9:00AM-4:00PM M-F.

  • Have a photo ID  when picking up your package
  • We are unable to allow for package pickup by anyone other than the person to whom the package is addressed at this time.

There are orange placement markers on the floor 6 feet apart. Please make sure you are practicing social distancing while waiting in line.          

REMINDER:

The campus post offices are not able to receive food deliveries for students. This includes services like Door Dash, UberEats and InstaCart.

If you use this type of service, you should treat it like a pizza delivery and arrange to meet the delivery person outside of your dorm or apartment building.

If you live on the east side of campus (Resident Halls & Perkins Apartments), you will receive an email from postoff@rit.edu when you have a package available for pick up.  If you live on the west side of campus (GV, RK, UC & Greek Circle), you will receive an email from gvpostoffice@rit.edu.   Carrier notifications do not indicate your package is ready for you to pick it up; they just indicate the package has been delivered to RIT’s dock.

 

The campus post offices in NRH and Global Village will adhere to strict handling policies, which include allowing packages to sit to allow staff to wipe them down with the RIT approved disinfectant.  In order to comply with the requirements set forth in the RIT Ready/Safety Plan, we will be unable to expedite delivery of incoming packages.

We recommend that students bring prescription medications with them when they come to campus to ensure you have the medications you need.  Once you are on campus, it is recommended you contact a local pharmacy for any prescription medications or materials, as we do not have a way to differentiate those items from normal packages, and do not have a way to insure the package is processed urgently.

We do not recommend shipping anything that needs to be temperature controlled. Due to longer than normal delivery times, we cannot guarantee continuous temperature control.
