Turning aspirations into achievements.

“I want students to know that there are people out there—who they may not even know—who were once in their shoes and are cheering them on from afar. I decided to become a member of the Sentinel Society because I was a student who succeeded with help from generous individuals. I want to be able to help the next generation believe in themselves and take a small burden off their plates through financial support.”
– Beitris McKeon BS ’14
Sentinel Society member Beitris McKeon BS ’14 never dreamed she would be a small business owner. In the past decade, since graduating from RIT with a physician assistant (PA) degree from the College of Health Sciences Technology (CHST), she’s put into motion the career and life she’s always wanted.
“I love how much I was set up for success at RIT, especially in my field,” Beitris comments. “I was funneled directly into the profession I was working toward. I had a professor who stood behind me and was my biggest cheerleader when times were tough. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her and her unwavering support.”
As an alum and donor, Beitris hopes to make a similar positive impact on current and future Tigers.
Beitris established McKeon Medical Consulting LLC in 2023 after serving as a physician assistant expert witness for medical malpractice cases across the U.S. She explains that starting her own business was a “huge milestone” and that she is proud of the expertise she garnered through her work at several hospitals and with her RIT degree.
“I love seeing CHST's progress in the short time since I graduated. I want to be part of keeping RIT on the cutting edge of medicine and PA programs.” Beitris was immersed in her academics and participated in Women’s Track and Field while she was an undergraduate student. She recalls fellow RIT students taking their studies very seriously compared to some friends and family members who went to other colleges. She shares that this critical focus on world-renowned education is what helps prepare graduates for purposeful vocations.
