Successfully launch your RIT experience.
Your Spring Orientation experience is designed to get you RIT-ready. It includes:
- Virtual Orientation: Your essential pre-arrival mission! You'll complete this online, on your own time, before arriving on campus. All modules must be completed before you arrive for Spring Orientation. Get started
- In-Person Spring Orientation: Spring Orientation is your one-day, can't-miss introduction to everything you need to succeed. Register today
Virtual Orientation
Begin your Orientation experience with our RIT Virtual Orientation. Here, you’ll get access to important information, including an introduction to services and resources, to help you successfully launch your RIT journey.
You must complete all modules before your in-person Orientation begins. Move through this program at your own pace. You can pause at any time and log back in to continue where you left off.
Write down your questions and bring them with you. The Orientation team is eager to answer any questions you may have about your RIT journey.
In-Person Spring Orientation
Spring Orientation is a one-day program scheduled for Friday, January 9, 2026. Consider this your fast track to feeling confident and connected before classes even begin. You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Learn more about your RIT experience
- Meet with your college or academic program
- Attend sessions and a resource fair, introducing you to various RIT offices and resources
- Meet other incoming students
A more detailed schedule will be shared soon.
Register for Spring Orientation
The deadline to register for Spring Orientation is Monday, January 5, 2026.
Schedule of Events:
- 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. | Move-in for students living in RIT Housing
- New to RIT students with new Spring Housing Assignments will pick up their ID and key at the Housing office before moving in.
- Commuter students should obtain their ID card at Wallace 1543 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9. ID cards can also be picked up at the University Services Center (USC), 1400, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, and between 12 and 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11.
- 10 a.m.-12 p.m. | Resource Fair and Orientation Check-in
All Orientation attendees are required to check in between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Here, you will check in and connect with important campus resources to help you successfully launch your RIT journey. You'll also have the opportunity to join a campus tour.
- 12-1:30 p.m. | Lunch
There’s more than one way to be a leader at RIT, and this is an opportunity to explore the many opportunities to step into leadership roles on campus and beyond, learn about this through lunch with Momentum.
- 1:30-2:30 p.m. | College Welcome (Optional)
Meet your academic support team, who can answer questions you may have about your course schedule and academic requirements.
- 2-5 p.m. | RIT Information Sessions
Get the tools and information you need to successfully navigate life on campus. You'll have the opportunity to connect with and learn about RIT Public Safety, Parking & Transportation, Career & Co-Op, and Campus Involvement.
- 5-6 p.m. | New Student Meet and Greet
- 6-7 p.m. | Current Student Meet and Greet / Head to the Hockey Game
- 7:05 p.m. | RIT Hockey Game
