Bio

I’m Jennie, a third year computing and IT student with a minor in environmental science. You might know me as the supplemental instructor (SI) in your GCIS classes or as your orientation leader, or maybe just as one of the people that frequents the system administration lab. I’ve also been the marketing director for RIT Players and a research assistant for a game design lab, all of which have given me varied experience leading and getting to know RIT’s workings, both from an interdisciplinary lens and also as a way to get to know all of GCCIS’ many different programs and people. These experiences are part of what has shaped my ambition to address RIT’s work to be done for the student experience and to represent you with the dedication and determination you deserve.

Platform

Struggling to get a co-op? Want more frequent shuttle service? Finally, a queer woman representative for Golisano? Increased variety and affordability of dining options? Better in-building mapping?

I’ve heard your requests, of which many align with my own. For example, often perhaps jokingly, I have been asked, “how can you get me a co-op as senator?” But it’s true that this is a reflection of the difficulty of our rapidly changing society outside RIT, which should be met inside RIT with better adaptability and transparency of alternative opportunities. Equitable opportunity and improvement of RIT’s basic services that we all rely on, such as dining and transportation, are priorities as important to me as communication— I intend to continue the current senator’s feedback collection to ensure that YOUR thoughts and ideas are both heard and addressed. Great strides have been made towards making the student senate known to more people, which I want to recognize and continue the work of in tandem with bringing forth new ideas. I will fervently advocate for these priorities, just as I will continue to listen to the improvements you wish to see for the betterment of the RIT and GCCIS community that I love.
