Daniel Amburgey (President)

Pronouns: He/Him/His

My name is Daniel Amburgey. I am a second-year chemistry major from Cincinnati, Ohio. In my free time, I enjoy sewing and hanging out with friends. I am very passionate about advocating for the rights and inclusion of queer students on campus and would love to do so through Outspoken.

Willow Rose (VP)

Pronouns: She/They

Hi, I’m Willow I’m a 4th year psychology major interested in how systems of injustice influence how we think and perceive, and how to change the ways we collectively think and perceive to fight systems of injustice. I also work as a project coordinator at SCAPE lab here at RIT. In my free time I like reading, playing videogames, and hanging out with my cat.

Platform

Our goal is to build resilience within the LGBTQ+ community here at RIT given the widescale attacks on our communities (and especially our trans members) rights, wellbeing, and lives and the climate that creates. But we also want to build resilience in a way that acknowledges the extra burden placed on our community members experiencing intersecting forms of oppression. We aim to do this by collaborating with other organizations. Additionally, we plan on working to increase the number of gender-neutral bathrooms available on campus. We also want to do a better job educating our community about the resources available to them. Lastly, we want to foster an inclusive and welcoming campus for all by focusing on accessibility at our events.
