Within the Anderson Alley Arts building in Rochester, NY, a unique synchronicity fosters a deep sense of community among its artists. The spontaneous hallway encounters, unplanned conversations, and shared studio visits often spark inspiration, offer clarity on creative ideas, and provide a constant exchange of feedback and resources. These serendipitous moments — along with more structured events, exhibitions, and impromptu classes — have cultivated a space where mutual support and artistic growth thrive.
The third floor of Anderson Alley Arts is home to a diverse group of creators: painters working in oil, watercolor, and acrylic; printmakers and bookmakers; photographers and mixed media artists; fabric and ceramic artists; sculptors; hat makers; felt workers; and needle hookers. This rich variety highlights not only the unique artistic expressions within the group but also the collaborative spirit that binds them.
The excellence, diversity, and community found within Anderson Alley Arts is showcased in University Gallery at Rochester Institute of Technology.
