Appointments: Appointments begin on the hour. The duration of a single appointment is up to 50 minutes, which allows the consultant 10 minutes to write their report and then prepare for their next appointment. Students may make up to two appointments per week. Please try to reserve appointments several days in advance, as the schedule may fill with appointments quickly.
Wait Lists: If the online schedule is full, put yourself on the waiting list by clicking on the clock icon next to the day you wish to make an appointment. If there is a cancellation, you will be notified via email.
Walk-in Policy: Students are welcome to visit the Writing Commons during open hours to schedule an appointment or meet with an available consultant. If a consultant is not working with a student with a scheduled appointment, walk-ins will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Late policy: When you make an appointment, that block of time is yours. Out of courtesy to our consultants and other students, please arrive on time. If you are more than 10 minutes late to your appointment, that meeting time will be reassigned to a student on the waiting list or canceled.
Cancelations: We ask that you respect the high demand for appointments and cancel any reserved appointments you’re not able to attend 24 hours in advance. To cancel your appointment online, log in to WCOnline, select your appointment, and click “Cancel This Appointment.” Students who miss two appointments in a semester without advance notice will no longer be able to make an appointment online for the rest of that term. Two missed appointments on an account within a semester will prompt our online scheduling system to disable your account.
