The University Writing Program (UWP) is designed to both teach and support students as they write in various phases of their RIT career, from the first year on into graduate studies.

The program offers direct and online instruction, in English and in American Sign Language (ASL), as well as one-on-one writing professional and peer consultation. The UWP, with the help of the Institute Writing Committee, also supports RIT faculty in creating and implementing their writing intensive courses.
