Check your understanding of velocity and speed
Again a hockey puck bounces off a wall, but now there is some complicated form of friction acting.
- What is the average speed for the entire motion?
- What is the average velocity for the entire motion?
- What is the instantaneous velocity at t=1 s?
- What is the instantaneous velocity at t = 3 s?
- In the first 2 seconds, is the puck speeding up, slowing down, or moving at constant speed?
- In the last 3 seconds, is the puck speeding up, slowing down, or moving at constant speed?
