The Harmonica and The Blues

Blues musicians developed a soulful way to play the harmonica that can be heard in many musical styles today. In this interdisciplinary course, students learn about the harmonica and its role in the great American art form of the blues. Students learn to play blues-style harmonica and about influential harmonica players from several eras and styles of music. The course involves the history and culture of the blues and the fundamentals of sound.
