Something New to View: Honoring a Legendary RIT Professor
The next time you’re moving through the Student Alumni Union, slow down and check out some new artwork by esteemed watercolorist and RIT Professor Luvon Sheppard. The four pieces were recently installed and hang near the Frederick Douglass sculpture. Sheppard has spent more than 50 years teaching in RIT’s College of Art and Design. In honor of that, this past spring, the Division of Diversity and Inclusion acknowledged his length of service and his impact on students during its Celebration of Excellence program and announced RIT would purchase Sheppard’s artwork for permanent display on campus.
